- The problem is endemic in both new and old infrastructure. What is intended to make cycling safer, Instead puts cyclists in danger.
- The government have devolved responsibility to the local authorities and although there are national design standards these cannot be imposed.
- The local authorities have a 'duty of care' which they are not following in - a) not providing infrastructure for cyclist's safety - b) providing infrastructure which threatens the safety of cyclists. The national cycling organisations should identify the two worst instances and bring a test case.
- Cycling UK have a website for reporting pot holes. I suggest they set one up for bad and dangerous design.
Name and shame the offending authorities.
